Redrawing Old OCs/Cartoon Concept- SK8 U!

This video was supposed to get made last month, but I finally got around to finalizing everything this week. This video is about an old cartoon concept I had from back when I was in middle school (2013-2015), called SK8 U! A show about a diverse group of kids in Philly who love to hang out and skateboard together. (side note, in the video when I mention the characters' ethnicities, they're not from the country of their ethnic origin, like if I say someone is Kenyan, that's just their ethnic background, but they're all from Philly)

I mean, with all of these videos I encourage you to draw along with me, but I figure this one especially fits with the music added in.

This is another completed spread from the first Create This Book by Moriah Elizabeth, this prompt being to create nostalgia. I did a few nostalgic things on different page spreads in the book, but I chose to depict a channel that unfortunately doesn't exist anymore, Vh1 Soul. I talked for maybe half the video about the channel, and I leave the rest with music playing.

Sidenote: Apparently you can see the man's head in the Soul Player bumper

This is another showcase of some spreads I've completed previously from Moriah Elizabeth's Create This Book. (the videos were recorded in June of last year) In the Growth Chart prompt, I draw and talk about different hairstyles I've worn throughout my life so far. In the Playlist prompt, I talk about a CD that was put together for me when I was 5 called Lady's Mix.

edit- I forgot, when I talked about why I couldn't go to styling salons as a kid, I forgot that another reason is that you don't know everyone's spirits, that's what I hear my mom say often.

This is a process of me re-drawing my Rainbow Harlem Renaissance piece from 2022 (during my time at UArts), and showing where I improved in some areas, to explaining the fashion of the characters.

The footage in this video was filmed in April of last year, completing the last handful of the prompts from the first Create This Book by Moriah Elizabeth.

The first was to create without thinking, and I kind of broke the rules on that one as I drew something from an existing dream I had one night, and the other prompt shown was to create an advertisement, so I drew an ad for an energy drink product I called Solar Eclipse, from an assignment we had in my freshman year of high school (10 years ago). Hopefully I can return to the idea later on, and make improved mock-ups of the drinks.

I'm SUPER late to this, but here is my take on the DMX Challenge! (As much as I don't like this song or the original title...)

Unfortunately, nobody really engaged in my initial poll on Instagram between real character cameos vs original designs 🙄 but original got one more vote, so for the most part, these were what popped in my head as I heard the girls' names. I also experimented with handwriting for their individual signatures.
