While the physical era of racial terror left deep historical scars, the psychological tactics of domination evolved. They shifted into systemic discrimination, biased media portrayals, and daily assaults on self-worth that pressure us to shrink, doubt, and silence ourselves.
But naming the trauma is the first step in stripping away its power. We aren't revisiting these chapters to stay trapped in old wounds—we are shedding light on them to understand how to fully heal. Healing begins with awareness, grows through community, and expands every single time we choose ourselves: our rest, our joy, our softness, and our truth.

From the significance of the lime green ribbon honoring our emotional wellness to the foundational history established in 2008 by an inspirational author and advocate, this month carries a profound meaning: choosing to intentionally preserve our heritage, celebrate our contributions, and protect our peace without compromise.
