Throughout the 1960s, King played a key role in a number of major civil rights campaigns, including the Birmingham Campaign and the Selma to Montgomery marches. In 1963, he gave his famous "I Have a Dream" speech at the Lincoln Memorial during the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom.
