When we reached 100K subscribers on youtube it was Dec 2017. I thought nothing of it. I was told by my sister April youtube gives you a plaque for reaching 100K subs. Once I found out this information I decided to contact them. To my surprise they gave me the run around saying "we have to prove your subscribers are real before we can send you this plaque." Here I am the owner of a multi channel network which helps others become successful youtubers and the man responsible for billions of views and thousands of people joining this platform and they dont trust that my viewership is legit. Why is that? After months of waiting nothing happened. No plaque was received. It wasn't until Dec 2018 when we reached over 300K subs and had a women of color working for youtube to vouch for us that we FINALLY received our plaque.
IT'S NOT EASY BEING A BLACK MAN! Especially in the Creator/Tech Entrepreneur space. Everyday you work hard trying to advance on their platforms, yet you get a constant reminder that THEY DONT WANT YOU TO ADVANCE!
