Jones Bar-B-Q Diner in Marianna, Arkansas, is a historic Black-owned family restaurant with roots dating back to the 1910s. Walter Jones, the original owner and pitmaster, began selling barbecue from a nearby home before the business became known as “The Hole in the Wall.” The diner moved to its current location in 1964, where James Harold Jones continues the family tradition.

Known for tender chopped pork on white bread with a tangy vinegar-based sauce, Jones Bar-B-Q has attracted visitors from around the world. It received the James Beard Foundation’s America’s Classics Award in 2012, was inducted into the Arkansas Food Hall of Fame in 2017, and was featured on The New York Times Restaurant List.
