While traveling on the train to downtown Chicago, looking out the window I had a thought. The scene reminded me of a Leslie Odom, Jr. song titled "Foggy", so I had an idea. Thinking of the song I wanted to capture what the song would convey, at that moment, peering out the train window. Something along the lines of what Gordon Parks would photograph but in video form.
She lit candles.
She prayed Psalms.
She bathed her jars in moonlight.
But her blessings kept falling through her fingers.
Why?
Because the spell wasn’t on her.
It was coming from her mouth.
