The_Walls_of_Benin__Africas_Forgotten_Wonder
The Walls of Benin were once the largest man-made structure on Earth, stretching over 16,000 kilometers—longer than the Great Wall of China. Built between 800 AD and 1460 AD, these walls were a symbol of the strength, engineering brilliance, and unity of the Edo people.
Yet, when the British invaded in 1897, they destroyed much of it, leaving only fragments standing today. Despite this, the Walls remain a testament to African ingenuity and resilience, a story hidden from most history books.
