About

Ethnomusicology in the 21st century.

Promoting and preserving the traditional musics of Africa.

I'm an ethnomusicology student at Rhodes University. I specialize in applied ethnomusicology and applied means that we have to give back to the communities that we are researching on ,so the people we are researching with are our research partners and if our product is a written paper very few of the people that we do our research with will gain any knowledge from that because its in a format that is inaccessible to the majority of South Africans, not only is it in English but it’s in academic English so that makes it very difficult to people to access plus its only written in journals so its never accessible to the real people who are not into academics.
.
The idea of a youtube channel makes it more accessible, you can access the videos for free the only costs incurred in buying data, this way information can make its way to everyone.

The aim is to collaborate, support and repatriate.
