I am haunted by the stories of the destroyed Black cities and neighborhoods across America. Perhaps TBT can be the platform America needs to finally . . . repair what damage we can. It hurts me because I am mixed race. I am not just Black. I am not just Puerto Rican/Carribean/American. And having that heritage . . . . .I am always conflicted. I have said it before but I am ashamed of the other half of my heratige. But I am dayumn proud of my Black heritage! Thank you for this video. I look forward to more. I want to learn! Like I never did growing up. I grew up without my dad. All I had was a Mexican step dad. I was a little brown kid everyone thought was Mexican! LMAO! Imagine their confusion every time I brought up my black heritage! 😤 My mother cringed when people would ask me if I was black. She even corrected someone once, but me . . . IDC! I am Black! I am mixed! And I will find the tallest mountain to shout it out loud! Maybe it was becasue in the end, my parents didn't separate on good terms, and my biological father was a ****. No excuse to deny Black heritage!
