Family,
We’ve seen this pattern over and over again, and we can’t stay silent anymore. The attack on Black fathers is real, and it’s affecting our communities in ways that can’t be ignored.
Take the case of Deion Sanders, one of the most iconic figures in sports. As a father, Deion has done what many Black fathers do: He has worked tirelessly to create opportunities for his children. In the case of his son Shedeur Sanders, he’s not only been a father, but a mentor, a coach, and a blueprint for success.
Shedeur Sanders was one of the top quarterbacks in the country — the #2 rated QB in the entire NFL draft. Yet, despite all his talent, he wasn’t picked until the 5th round.
Why?
Why would a player with such exceptional skills fall so far?
One of the core reasons is the same reason we see Black fathers like Deion Sanders, LaVar Ball, Joe Jackson, and others constantly being scrutinized: The system is afraid of strong Black fathers who are capable of changing the game.
They know that when Black fathers step up, like Deion did for Shedeur, they create a blueprint — one that other fathers will follow. They know that when we teach our children to stand tall, take ownership, and create our own paths, the old ways of control begin to lose their power.
Shedeur’s draft position was no accident.
This was about sending a message.
This was about trying to destroy the example that Deion Sanders and his family have set.
When you are a Black father who succeeds in creating a legacy of greatness for your children, it shows the world that we don’t need permission to succeed. It shows that we don’t need approval to excel.
And the system? They can’t afford to let that happen.
But it’s not just Deion. We’ve seen this exact same blueprint attacked with Ap 1nabillion, who, like Deion, built an empire for his family, only to have his hard work erased.
Ap 1nabillion, with his wife Dangerus Diva, their son ItsJFunk, and their Miracle Baby Josiah, created one of the most successful family brands on YouTube, known as the So in Love Family. With over 450 million views and an audience of millions, Ap crafted a legacy — a blueprint of how to build family-centric content, rise above the system, and create your own opportunities.
But this blueprint? It was attacked, just like Deion’s. The So in Love Family's YouTube channel was wrongfully removed after being repeatedly hacked, even after it was restored multiple times. Why? Because they feared the impact of a strong Black family creating a platform that empowered other Black families to build their own digital empires.
We saw it happen with Ap 1nabillion. We saw them try to silence his family. And we’ve seen it happen to many others. They don't want us to succeed. They fear the power of Black fathers creating their own legacies, controlling their narratives, and showing the world how Black families can thrive without relying on the system.
But we are fighting back.
We are creating our own platforms, telling our own stories, and empowering our own families.
That’s why platforms like The Black Tube are so important. We can’t wait for the mainstream media to validate us or allow our voices to be heard. We need to take control of our own narratives.
We need to support Black fathers and protect Black families.
