⁣A man of many talents, Mos Def chose rap as his initial vehicle on the road to freedom, and it took him all over the world. Not to mention giving him critical acclaim amongst his peers and the rap history books. What was refreshing about Mom Def that helped achieve this, was a first glance or listen you could tell he was genuine. Whatever hip hop was created to be, Mos Def was that to his core and never wavered from it. What came with that was the expectation of him raising to the top at at least one endeavor of his repertoire of creative abilities. Rap, acting, fashion, politics, Not a banned from Africa, seemingly angry old artist that squared himself off so much so that over time he fit less and less into the circle of society as he knows it, and became as some may say, a disappointment? The G.O.A.T might be a stretch, but as a pure rapper, there weren't many better than Mos aka Yasiin Bey. Many things are confusing about him, and sometimes he even comes off as a hypocrite.
